iCloud a name many still don’t know how to use effectively since it debuted in 2011 in Apple’s Developers conference. Since its my first posts since i stopped I’ve decided to make things easy on many out there giving a really simple explaination on iCloud. iCloud is not an app or service by its own but rather an application suite its main use is to sync all of your iOS devices and Mac ( Photos, Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Reminders, Safari, Notes, Keychain ( saved Passwords) ) wirelessly though apple servers. For example No matter where you add a new Note you will find it on all of your iOS & Mac which have the same iCloud account which is basically your apple account.
Now how to setup iCloud on your devices, first if you own a Mac go to System Preferences, iCloud and insert your account and simply check the things you wanna sync through iCloud.
Now go to you iOS device (iPhone, iPad) into settings, iCloud and again do the same thing toggle the switch of the application data you wanna sync though all your apple devices.
Keep in mind that for each iCloud account you only get 5 GB on sync data no matter how many apple devices you own its 5GB if you need more storage especially for your photos i would recommend you upgrade.
Its been a while since Blackberry z10 have been released and many having been having issues with migrating their contacts to the new Z10. What Im about to explain is not Z10 specific actually its the method i always use to keep my contacts synchronised across all my mobile phones which is pretty simple but unfortunately not explain much so no matter whether you are using a Blackberry, Android or iOS you may use this method to transfer your contacts between those platforms.
The first step you will need to do is to transfer all your contacts from your old phone to your PC or Mac using (iTunes, OutLook, Kies) depending on what you your old mobile is, its a bit of a hassle but trust it you wont have to suffer from it again.
Back on your PC open Outlook ( if you are using Windows) or Contacts application (if you are on a Mac) Go to File Export Contact vcf File. This option will export all your contacts in One file and please please try to remember where you are saving that file.
Now go to your email account, I prefer using an email account that you dont have Contacts already stored in it so you dont mix up your mobile contacts with email contacts. I would highly recommend using Gmail, OutLook or Live cause through my experience they work great with syncing. Go to your email account and choose the Contact tab and choose Import Contact , when promoted choose the file you have saved in the previous step.
Your contacts should be now saved on your email address and as you add your email to your new phone just choose to sync contacts & email
We have all been there, driving in own car stuck in traffic fed up with listening to music and maybe looking for something more informative to listen to and feed our mind while wasting those minutes. We waste precious minutes of our lives driving, waiting inline, waiting for a friend to arrive, many minutes through the day get wasted and the first thing anyone does to waste time especially when driving is to turn on their radio and start listening to some kind of horrible radio show no matter whether they like it or not and frankly between all the radio shows we have here in Kuwait I can only name a couple that really worth listening to, some are funny and some are just discussing whats going on in Q8 and the rest are cheesy horrible shows that should get banned. So what if you wanted to listen to a show talking about a specific topic that may intriguer your interest Technology, engineering, marketing or even just a video game show we dont really have this kind of shows, not to mention those horrible cheesy radio commercials that are all preformed by one guy who is always amazed and shocked by the latest offer from X company and the typical woman talking to her friend about X company offer. OMG those ads are so freaken horrible.
I know I went off topic with those ads but the solution that i was surprised many dont know is called Podcast, Podcast is a prerecorded radio shows inorder for you to get the latest news, reviews, general talk or even professional analysis of a certain topic some famous networks have their own podcasts like CNN, ESPN, Engadget, and many other. The purpose of a podcast is to feed your mind by listening to something that interests you or even entertains you in your own time you just download or even stream the episode to your mobile/laptop/iPod and listen to it whenever suits you. Ive been a podcast listener for 3 years now and Im so surprised that some dont even know what it is so i had to at least try to explain it in this post.
Many podcast apps are available in the Apple Store, Google Play Store & Blackberry World Store so to help you out and not make this post long I’ll mention my favorite Apps that I personally use and the same thing apply to all of them just open the app search for a certain topic that you like Football, Technology, Fashion or search for a certain network like CNN and add it to your list and listening.
My favorite apps PocketCasts available on iOS and Android & if you are using Blackberry Z10 try Nobex and AntennaPod.
Do you agree with me that most of our radio shows are just cheesy and not worth listening to ????
I wont be exaggerating if i say that the most asked question by anyone I’ve met since I got the Blackberry Z10 is whether it has Instagram or not, and I would like to confirm that the official Instagram app is coming to BB10 but I found a simple solution for those who cant live without Instagram and cant wait for the official app.

طبعا هذا حل مبدئ لحين نزول برنامج الانستقرام الرسمي في سوق بلاك بيري
I know this solution might sound so simple to some of you but I know many do not know that this option exists, of course you may Like, Comment & view your friends profiles but you can not upload any pics into your account. Its a temporary solution till the official Instagram app finds its way to Blackberry World app store.
Finally I have to mention that the only app available in Blackberry World app store to view Instagram photos is called FlipStagram but it only shows your photo feed as a grid and I personally didnt like it much.
Some website have been posting wrong info since the early morning about BB10 & the new Z10 from Blackberry. Those websites have mentioned that you don’t need a Blackberry subscription from your mobile provider to use the new Z10 or any BB10 of course that info is so wrong, you can never use BBM (I have tested it out myself although I know it wont work) the only thing you may use is the Browser, Twitter and some apps but BBM (BlackBerry Messenger) won’t work without a subscription. If you are interested in getting the new Z10 or any BB10 upcoming devices you should get a blackberry subscription with it
Mada have offered us an ISDN service to test and make use of their portable landline included in their package. We’ve received it since Ramadan and it might seem late to publish a review now but the past period was a torture testing period for their service. I wanted to make sure that internet service would be reliable in most residential areas in Kuwait. Since Mada is a wireless internet provider internet speed may vary according to the area, although they have their own coverage area table i just wanted to run my own tests. You may check it on their website Here coz the table down below represents my own testing results.
Mada ISDN service comes with a portable landline that could be so appropriate for small businesses, of course the landline works fine for receiving and making calls so basically nothing to test other than call quality and as i mentioned before its fine. Now for the their internet service, one issue that may be annoying to some users that the router has to be near a window to get the best signal available in your area. Basically you have to run a speed test next to each window in your house to know exactly the best place for the router. Some times the best place for the router is not the best place for you but that is something you have to bare with especially when using a wireless internet provider. Due to my personal horrible experience with Fasttelco & QualityNet i began to favour wireless net providers (Zain,Viva & Mada) although it might not be as stable in connection speed but at least they have a qualified technical staff for support rather than Fasttelco who always claim that your house wiring is the problem or coz you use a Mac not windows, i could go on and on talking about how horrible their service is and their support. Dont get my wrong that im bashing them now coz of Mada but i couldnt help remembering their stupidity anyway back to our topic. Below you will find a table i gathered with the help of my friends testing the internet speed in various areas and the speed mentioned in the table is the average speed taken mostly 2 to 3 times a day, the main purpose of this table is just to get an idea on the connection speed. Since its a wireless provider speeds may vary also your house location versus their tower would have a huge effect of the speed you might experience so take it with a grain of salt dont totally rely on it coz each location in the same residential area may experience different speed.
Finally i would like to thank Mada for the ISDN service & of course my friends who helped alot in the making of this test (Thanks Guys )
Many are taking the Android plunge and shifting from their beloved iPhone and of course the first thing that pops into most people’s mind are the Galaxy S3 which in my opinion a great Android mobile but its not the only one out there and that is the beauty of Android, variety there is no one great phone for everyone each Android has its pros and cons and its up to you to choose the one that suits you best.
Also i got so fed up with people thinking that the only good mobile out there is the Galaxy S3 & 90% of people claiming this dont even know what Android is or even iOS is, its a the ugly truth but we all know that 70% of people carrying iPhones for the past 3 years only use Whatsapp, Twitter, Facebook and SMS and the worst of all that they didnt even have an Apple account on their iPhone, they just went to a mobile store and paid 5 KD to some guy to setup their phone for them (OMG I hate this type of people). Just a basic yet simple rule anyone should go with, if you dont know how to use something dont buy it & if you did then pleaaaaaaassssssssssseeeeeeeee spend some time to learn how it works, its all a trend here in K-Town ( its a waste of time trying to educate people ).
Now back to my main Android guide, if you are looking for a great Android mobile and you dont wanna spend alot of money then your first choice should be Samsung Galaxy S2, yes S2 not S3 continue reading to know why before you pass judgment. The Galaxy S2 is a dual core Android with a Super AMOLED PLUS display which is almost the same as the S3, thin profile, awesome camera and a good battery life, although it comes with Ginger Bread Android software still it is up-gradable to Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS). Its the best Android mobile that wont burn a hole in your wallet for the price of 140 KD maybe less but last time i checked ( few weeks ago). Also a great dual core is the htc One S thats comes with Ice Cream Sandwich and a great build quality.
Some users are more into rooting and playing around with their Android software and really wanna put their hands on the newest Android 4.1 or experience the stock ICS. If you are one of those then your best choice is Samasung Galaxy Nexus, it has a Pen-Tile display which in my opinion is a good display but of course not as great as the Galaxy S2, S3 or even the iPhone retina display. 5 Megapixle camera, dual core and a good battery life all for the price of 150 KD or maybe less. So basically the Nexus is designed for the geeks among us 😉
The Galaxy Note or as some may call it phablet ( phone + tablet), the weirdest idea of a mobile device ever & in a strange way people just fell in love with. The Note is a dual core but as we all know has the biggest display on the market till now. If you like a big display to work with & enjoy using a stylus then you can never go wrong with the Note. Also some use the Note as a secondary device carrying it around as a tablet due to its size of course. Price wise its a great deal for a 100 KD in some stores but if you are not in a hurry i would wait a bit before buying the Note coz Samsung is gonna announce the Galaxy Note 2 in the upcoming weeks ( dont say i didnt warn you :p ).
Now for the ones who want to hold a beast in their hands the Quad core Android phone both phone are sold for the same price a 190 KD, The Samsung Galaxy S3 ( of course every one know s that ) and the htc One X. A big awesome display 4.7 for the htc & 4.8 for the Samsung S3, both beats are hosting a 1 GB of RAM, battery wise both are the same dont worry about the 1800mAh or 2100 mAh you will end up charging it twice a day if you are a heavy to medium user. The main selling point for the Galaxy S3 is the expandable memory slot (16 GB builtin memory + memory slot) and the ability to switch the battery. The htc One X main selling point are Beats audio equalizer which comes built in for music lovers and the NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor which is dedicated to better gaming performance. The 2 beasts have an 8 Megapixle camera and an awesome display although different display technology yet both deliver great visuals.
