BBM Will Be Available On Android & iOS
Announced a few hours ago in Blackberry Live that the famous BBM Messenger is gonna be across platform app which means that iPhone & Android users gonna be able to simply download BBM from their App Store.
It’s a bold move from Blackberry to gain more users back on BBM but My initial thought that they are slowly killing themselves coz other than security Blackberry had this unique feature which now can be available on iOS & Android.
Nokia Making Fun Of Samsung & Apple’s War
Check out the latest commercial from Nokia trying to promote the Lumia 920 (Windows phone) while making fun of Samsung’s fan boys who most of them dont know that it runs Android :p and Apple’s addicts.
We have seen this kind of approach last year when all of Samsung’s commercial were about the iPhone & few years back when Apple made their PC VS Mac commercial series, could this kind of approach work for Nokia & Windowsphone ???
HTC One New Android Beast
It might sound late to talk about the HTC One which got announced back in March but since I found out that many dont even know anything about it even the avid Android users who only care about the Samsung Galaxy S4 as if it was the only Android mobile out there. Ive always been a fan of HTC since windows 6 & 7 used to dominate the market, too bad HTC doesnt have a huge marketing campaign as Samsung or Apple does.
By the way this is not a review of the HTC One since its not yet available in Kuwait, I’m only highlighting the fact the there is another Android beast out there and not only Samsung Galaxy. HTC is famous for their extraordinary build quality and as an engineer I appreciate good material & build quality. The HTC One is made of Aluminium not cheap plastic as the Galaxy, also one of the key features of this device is the Boom sound which you may notice in the pics above that the HTC One have 2 speakers (Top & Bottom grills) oriented towards the user the give him the best quality of sound.
Did I mention that the screen resolution is 920×1080 ? and did I mention the fact that HTC was the first manufacturer to introduce the 1080 resolution back in 2012 with the HTC Butterfly and now they are doing it again with their latest device with a 4.8″ screen rather than the previous Butterfly’s 5″. This time HTC is driving the mobile industry with some new cool features like the Ultra Pixel camera, Boom sound & IR blaster.

Best Mobile Phones Of 2012
Continuing my Best Of series, here is my best mobile’s list for 2012. My phone’s list will go through best screen, best battery,best phone for hacks, best camera, best highend smart phone with a friendly budget and best luxury phone but before I start just a simple reminder that all the phones mentioned are my personal choice and not based on any other list made from any tech sites, all the mobile phones are available in Kuwait and Ive tried them personally.
Best Phone’s Display
Its really easy to determine which phone has the best display in 2012 , it hosts the same specs as the famous Samsung Galaxy S3 but unfortunately havent had the huge media spotlight or mania as Samsung had. The phone Im talking about is the htc One X beautiful android with a solid build, if compare its 4.7″ display to the Galaxy S3 or the iPhone 5 its like comparing a 2 year old displays to a true HD display its truly AMAZING.
Best Battery
No matter what smart phone you have in your hand and how pleased you are with it at the end of the day it comes to how much battery you still have to make those urgent calls or check those important emails. I actually didnt buy this phone but I’ve used it during my business trip to Istanbul, I accidentally forgot my Blackberry back home and I was planning to use it with a Turkish sim so a friend of mine offered me his motorola Razr Maxx to use it during my trip. He is also an iPhone user and when I asked him why he is not using the Motorola he simply replied its my travel phone, and I came to realize what he meant when I kept using it excessively. Im always connected to the internet checking my work emails, twitter, whatsapp, Google+ you name it plus phone calls of course and at the end of the day I return to my hotel with a 40 % charge. All day long heavy usage and a 40% remaining now thats a BEAST. It also felt so durable in the hands with its kevlar back. The camera is not that great but the battery in this beast is phenomenal a 3300 mAh.
Some may argue that Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has a 3100 mAh battery plus great specs and awesome display but in my opinion the motorola may claim this category because its much smaller in general, cheaper 90 KD and The Note 2 is a Phablet not a smart phone.
Best Luxury Phone
Hands down it is the BlackBerry Porsche Design P9981, check out my review on the P9981 Here. The design is extraordinary as if it came out of a sci-fi movie.
Best Phone for Hacks
Its so obvious its gonna be the Nexus 4, a pure android experience and a device loved by developers. Usually Nexus phones has a massive number of ROMs that can be installed on it but since its not available in Kuwait yet and the Galaxy Nexus is pretty old now Im gonna choose the htc One X again coz I know its loved by developers and I’ve tried so many ROMs on it.
Best Phablet
Although i didnt use it but its the only phablet available in Kuwait till now of course it the Galaxy Note 2.
Best Camera Phone
It cant be a phone list without having the iPhone 5 in it, some may claim it to be the best phone of the year but actually I wont specify a certain best overall phone especially coz we had some great phone in 2012. Back to the iPhone 5, although its just an 8 MP camera but we all know its not always about the number of pixels the camera optics and software play a huge role in picture quality.
Best High End SmartPhone & Budget Friendly
The Samsung Galaxy S3, its the best selling smart phone for 2012 and a great overall phone. Quad core, 4.8″ display, 8 MP camera and it retails for only 160 KD. It hosts almost the same specs as the htc One X & performance wise its a beast. For only 160 KD & 6 colors compared to the iPhone’s starting price of 200 KD or htc’s 190 KD Samsung wins this category. Its not a cheap phone but a high end smart phone with a reasonable price.
iPad Mini For Kids
A simple thought that’s been on my mind since Apple sent their invitation the past few days. I’m only speculating so don’t blame me if it’s not true but I would love to read your thoughts and opinions down below in the comment section.
We all have seen the leaked parts of the iPad Mini and we are now almost sure that they might announce an iPad Mini in the upcoming days although Steve Jobs never believed in a 7″ tablets but he had a vision to make the iPad a learning tool for schools and kids. A 7″ iPad would be the perfect tool to make his vision come true, at least this is what I believe also Apple’s invitation always had some hidden clues and this time I see the colors used as if they were made by crayons at least this how I see it.

iPhone 5 The Stupidity Factor
It’s simply never ends. Everyone is talking, posting, tweeting and wishing for the iphone 5. First thing I have to mention that I’m not an Anti-Apple & I’m only discussing so logics, although I’m totally disappointed with the iPhone 5 not because I’m an Android Fan boy but simple coz Apple didn’t do anything revolutionary with iphone 5 only simple and expected upgrades any other manufacturer could have done the same thing with their previous model. Apple’s philosophy is all about revolutionizing current products coz they are Apple & that’s why we buy their products.
Let’s talk simple facts either if you own an iphone 4 or 4S. Maps, LTE connectivity, Siri can now tell you sports results and of course Facebook integration just a bunch of useless features. Don’t waste your money especially if you already own an iPhone 4S. As of screen real estate its nothing worth paying 300+ KD for it.
Of course 300+ KD is only in Kuwait which is basically a damn rip off. People plz think for a minute or even 5 minutes if you are slow thinkers you can order it or wait for your mobile provider to get it for a maximum of 240 KD (16GB) that’s the price you could end up paying if you order it from UK.
I’ve mentioned it over & over again and I’ll say it again coz stupidity is a common disease here in K-town DONT SPEND 300 KD ON IT so you can be the first guy/girl among your friends & family to carry it. its not worth it to buy an iphone or a Galaxy S3 if your only using it for Whatsapp, Twitter & instagram.
If you really enjoy using an iPhone and you at least upgrading from an iPhone 4 and your not paying the 300 KD then go for it otherwise don’t be like the guy above.
