Yesterday i got invited by Alzanki Enterprises & Cinescape to an exclusive screening for one of most anticipated movies in 2013. Ill keep this review simple but before I start I must mention that I was sitting near a popcorn chewing machine. I have never heard anyone chew so loudly in the movie theater not to mention laughing for no apparent reason, so I would like to send my regards to the chewing machine and thank him for the annoying sound effects during the movie.
Now back to the movie, its basically an assembly line of cut scenes of some of the best moments in the life of Steve Jobs without any depth, and without significance. Most people will be lost, there is not much continuity, and you are left at the end wondering why you came to the movie. You didn’t learn anything new about Jobs or even followed his life path, you are not sure what the point was, and yet you spent two painful hours trying to get something out of this movie. The soundtrack used in the movie seemed like a Country/Rock genre which in my opinion has nothing to do with the life nor the area Jobs lived in.
The movie ended so abruptly that you feel that the director ran out of film or exceeded the time limit he had. Personally I dont recommend anyone going to JOBS its a total disappointment to all the Apple fans, Movie lover, and even Apple haters.
Mada have offered us an ISDN service to test and make use of their portable landline included in their package. We’ve received it since Ramadan and it might seem late to publish a review now but the past period was a torture testing period for their service. I wanted to make sure that internet service would be reliable in most residential areas in Kuwait. Since Mada is a wireless internet provider internet speed may vary according to the area, although they have their own coverage area table i just wanted to run my own tests. You may check it on their website Here coz the table down below represents my own testing results.
Mada ISDN service comes with a portable landline that could be so appropriate for small businesses, of course the landline works fine for receiving and making calls so basically nothing to test other than call quality and as i mentioned before its fine. Now for the their internet service, one issue that may be annoying to some users that the router has to be near a window to get the best signal available in your area. Basically you have to run a speed test next to each window in your house to know exactly the best place for the router. Some times the best place for the router is not the best place for you but that is something you have to bare with especially when using a wireless internet provider. Due to my personal horrible experience with Fasttelco & QualityNet i began to favour wireless net providers (Zain,Viva & Mada) although it might not be as stable in connection speed but at least they have a qualified technical staff for support rather than Fasttelco who always claim that your house wiring is the problem or coz you use a Mac not windows, i could go on and on talking about how horrible their service is and their support. Dont get my wrong that im bashing them now coz of Mada but i couldnt help remembering their stupidity anyway back to our topic. Below you will find a table i gathered with the help of my friends testing the internet speed in various areas and the speed mentioned in the table is the average speed taken mostly 2 to 3 times a day, the main purpose of this table is just to get an idea on the connection speed. Since its a wireless provider speeds may vary also your house location versus their tower would have a huge effect of the speed you might experience so take it with a grain of salt dont totally rely on it coz each location in the same residential area may experience different speed.
Finally i would like to thank Mada for the ISDN service & of course my friends who helped alot in the making of this test (Thanks Guys 🙂 )
Another new game trying to make its way to your addiction, well its not actually new its been released a few months ago after being one of the most successful games in Korea & Japan. If you are not the typical type of MMO player or even if you are a hardcore WOW you just have to have a look at this game.
TERA tries to redefines all MMO combat style making it more interesting and closer to console games while maintaining the the most important aspect of any good mmo, a unique user experience to each player. The visuals and graphics could be described as tremendously beautiful. Its an open fantasy world and unlike some cartoonish games out there TERA has a touch of reality to it.
So many aspects could be covered during this review but the most important one which makes TERA one of its kind is combat. It plays as a fighting game more than a boring mmo, you can not stand still and just press a button killing ur enemy you latterly have to dodge, stab, execute your special attack and know you enemy weakness. One wrong move and your dead as in all console fighting games you need to plan you attack and keep an eye on your enemy, whats really great about TERA that is can also be played using an Xbox controller to add some ease to new players or console gamers in general.
Unfortunately we can only play on Europe’s server and although i though it would be and not as fun as the American server but i glad to tell you that its full of players ( who speaks English so dont worry about language differences). Check out the video review below to get a good glimpse on TERA & click HERE for their official site.
P.S if you are interested on which character im playing, im a Castanic archer 🙂
Couple of weeks have passed since ive recieved my the P9981 Porsche Design device from RIM and many have been waiting for this review so here i go 🙂
First thing your gonna notice when you hold this piece of art into your hands is how awesome is the build quality is, nothing in the market can be compared to the P9981 build quality. When it comes to build quality the iPhone have been dominating it and im only talking about the build quality so dont mix things up. No matter if you are an Android fan or an iOS no one could deny that the iPhone build quality was the best in the market and although i tested so many devices before i couldnt find any device that has a good build quality till i got my hands on the Blackberry Porsche Design if you dont believe me just think of it in a logical way its designed by Porsche & RIM so you can imagine how it could feel in your hand.
The P9981 feels and looks like something that came out of a science fiction movie (Star Trek or Star Wars) and its an eye catcher no matter where you go its gonna be noticed even from non blackberry fans. Personally i love the aluminum body and the leather back which i really think is so practical when putting the device down on a table, unlike the Bold 9900 the leather back can really protect your Blackberry while maintaining its unique looks.
For the first couple of hours i wasnt comfortable with the keyboard and no one can disagree about how RIM is famous for its keyboards, blackberry keyboards are the most comfortable and practical keyboard you could ever use no matter which blackberry you’ve got RIM never compromise on their keyboards or touch screens. Later when my fingers got used to the keyboard i found it so comfortable and didnt disappoint me as i originally thought ( just a reminder i personaly use the Bold 9900) and surprisingly with the futuristic design of the P9981 its so comparable to the 9900 when it comes to comfort and fast typing capabilities i could even say that its a bit more comfortable to type on than the 9900.
Now for the specs which is by the way the same as the Bold 9900 with only one thing different that i personally couldnt explain, the light sensor. The light sensor is so responsive something that i couldnt explain. usually when i use my Bold 9900 the screen doesnt turn off in the right time so usually when im answering a call on my Bold 9900 i end up pressing the on-screen buttons as the speaker, and im not the only one who had this problem even my friends have been facing the same issue no matter what software update they have. During my excessive use i found that the light sensor in the P’9981 is so responsive and i never NEVER had an issue with the screen it turns off in the right moment. I took one of my friends Bold 9900 and tested the light sensor in it and found the same result as my 9900 which is a bit of lag in the sensor unlike the Porsche Design which incredibly turns off and dims in the right second. I searched for a reason coz nothing was officially mentioned that the light sensor could differs from the originally 9900 but i could not find an answer except a rare study that mentions that aluminum could affect the light sensor in a small way and i remember that the iPhone also has an aluminum body, so whether or not that could have an effect still the question remains and my experience proves it.
I wont get much into the software coz im saving this for another post but one thing that anyone would notice is the original them that comes packed in the P’9981 which again adds to its futuristic design. It might seems strange for the first time but i just love the way it all blends in ahhmmm BLENDS in :p in the whole design.
Few days i ago i received an official request from RIM to test out their master piece the P’9981 or as most of us know as Blackberry Porsche design for one month for review purpose.
My tech addiction couldn’t resist the chance to review this awesome device, also coz i personally own the Bold 9900 which has the same hardware as the Porsche Design, Ive been using it for a week now and you would have to wait for my full review to know whether it is the same as the Bold 9900 or it has something unique to offer so you would have to wait for my full review to discover 🙂

From the makers of Demon Souls comes this marvelous dark gloomy game some people may consider it Demon Souls 2 but its not. If you haven’t played Demon Souls or heard about it well let me just tell you that Demon Souls WAS the Hardest game on Console & PC that of course till Dark Souls arrived, you can even find it on the package saying “Prepare to Die”.
Dark Souls is an open world dark & moody RPG game with a medevil them as you can see from the pics. You begin life as an undead body breaking free from a dark dungeon, wondering through the lands collecting souls & slashing demons and beasts along your way. The game as I mentioned before is really hard and you can not control it’s difficulty settings, basically as you go along slashing demons and collecting their souls if you die ( which gonna happen alot and alot ) you return back to the previous check point which is a bonfire and all the enemies you killed come back to life, you would have to make your way back the the place where you were killed to retrieve your souls & experience points and if you die along the way all your souls and experience points get lost forever.
The concept behind it is pretty hard and the number of enemies you are gonna face is endless. The game tests you patience and skills and it will punish you hard if you make a mistake, so don’t expect to walk around slashing enemies away, you have to plan your moves, study you enemy tactics & act upon that. This game will suck your soul & will keep you coming back for more if you are up for a good challenge and a tremendous amount of fun. I won’t deny that is pissed me off alot but really had alot of fun playing it.
I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a challenge or loves an RPG, coz if Skyrim was my favorite game of the year, Dark Souls will be my second.
