Blackberry 10 is one of the most anticipating upcoming mobile software for loyal BB users and tech addicts, and it might change the whole thing to RIM and bring it back to competition.
The videos below demonstrate some of the features on BB 10.
The below video features RIM’s answer to Siri although im not a big fan of Siri or voice command software in general coz its pretty useless and unpractical but some of you will definitely would enjoy it. Check it out.
According to some reports published by The Sunday Times claims that RIM ( Blackberry manufacturer) is considering splitting its software (messaging network) division from its hardware division and selling the latter one. I really got shocked about the strategy RIM’s considering to get back into the competition. The idea might seem great to some and could really help RIM but what really concerns me is the hardware, RIM was the first mobile manufacturer to build their own software and hardware and that what really made RIM lead the market for a while. Most successful mobile or smart phones where built by the same company just try to remember most of the successful mobile you have held in you hands through the years or even this year (the iPhone).
Till now RIM didnt confirm or deny the leaked reports i guess we would have to wait to know what is really happening inside RIM.
RIM have launched Blackberry Bonus app as a simple Thank U gesture to all of their BB customers to enjoy some discounts.

Couple of weeks have passed since ive recieved my the P9981 Porsche Design device from RIM and many have been waiting for this review so here i go 🙂
First thing your gonna notice when you hold this piece of art into your hands is how awesome is the build quality is, nothing in the market can be compared to the P9981 build quality. When it comes to build quality the iPhone have been dominating it and im only talking about the build quality so dont mix things up. No matter if you are an Android fan or an iOS no one could deny that the iPhone build quality was the best in the market and although i tested so many devices before i couldnt find any device that has a good build quality till i got my hands on the Blackberry Porsche Design if you dont believe me just think of it in a logical way its designed by Porsche & RIM so you can imagine how it could feel in your hand.
The P9981 feels and looks like something that came out of a science fiction movie (Star Trek or Star Wars) and its an eye catcher no matter where you go its gonna be noticed even from non blackberry fans. Personally i love the aluminum body and the leather back which i really think is so practical when putting the device down on a table, unlike the Bold 9900 the leather back can really protect your Blackberry while maintaining its unique looks.
For the first couple of hours i wasnt comfortable with the keyboard and no one can disagree about how RIM is famous for its keyboards, blackberry keyboards are the most comfortable and practical keyboard you could ever use no matter which blackberry you’ve got RIM never compromise on their keyboards or touch screens. Later when my fingers got used to the keyboard i found it so comfortable and didnt disappoint me as i originally thought ( just a reminder i personaly use the Bold 9900) and surprisingly with the futuristic design of the P9981 its so comparable to the 9900 when it comes to comfort and fast typing capabilities i could even say that its a bit more comfortable to type on than the 9900.
Now for the specs which is by the way the same as the Bold 9900 with only one thing different that i personally couldnt explain, the light sensor. The light sensor is so responsive something that i couldnt explain. usually when i use my Bold 9900 the screen doesnt turn off in the right time so usually when im answering a call on my Bold 9900 i end up pressing the on-screen buttons as the speaker, and im not the only one who had this problem even my friends have been facing the same issue no matter what software update they have. During my excessive use i found that the light sensor in the P’9981 is so responsive and i never NEVER had an issue with the screen it turns off in the right moment. I took one of my friends Bold 9900 and tested the light sensor in it and found the same result as my 9900 which is a bit of lag in the sensor unlike the Porsche Design which incredibly turns off and dims in the right second. I searched for a reason coz nothing was officially mentioned that the light sensor could differs from the originally 9900 but i could not find an answer except a rare study that mentions that aluminum could affect the light sensor in a small way and i remember that the iPhone also has an aluminum body, so whether or not that could have an effect still the question remains and my experience proves it.
I wont get much into the software coz im saving this for another post but one thing that anyone would notice is the original them that comes packed in the P’9981 which again adds to its futuristic design. It might seems strange for the first time but i just love the way it all blends in ahhmmm BLENDS in :p in the whole design.
Few days i ago i received an official request from RIM to test out their master piece the P’9981 or as most of us know as Blackberry Porsche design for one month for review purpose.
My tech addiction couldn’t resist the chance to review this awesome device, also coz i personally own the Bold 9900 which has the same hardware as the Porsche Design, Ive been using it for a week now and you would have to wait for my full review to know whether it is the same as the Bold 9900 or it has something unique to offer so you would have to wait for my full review to discover 🙂

Special Thanks to RIM
Last Wednesday we got invited by RIM to preview their newest update which by the way hot fresh from CES 2012. The updates are for the PlayBook 2.0 & OS7.1 which is the software for all ur blackberry devices. Lets start with OS7.1 which i personally tested it on my device, the most important thing about it in my personal opinion is the NFC ( Near Field Communication) is now enabled. Ill simplify what NFC with a simple example, in case you wanna send someone a file or contact simply tap the 2 devices & a secure connection is gonna establish to transfer the desired file or contact info, it might seem so simple now but think of what this kind of technology holds into the future, one thing i have in mind & its coming its NFC payment. Instead of pulling ur K-net or visa off your wallet just touch the shop’s NFC sensor & it will deduct from your bank account. BlackBerry devices are the first mobile devices to have such a capability although Android device have been planning to release NFC but they didnt release it yet GO RIM 😉 .Another simple yet an important update feature is a hotspot capability ( Turn your Blackberry into a wifi router).
Now for the PlayBook the 2.0 update brings built in Email & Calender but thats not the big news 😉 the BIG news that i mentioned long ago when i was at GITEX that Android Apps are now supported on the PlayBook & you can download your favorite Android apps directly from App World. I reviewed the Playbook before & i still hold my opinion about it the tablet is so stable & responsive the only problem it was suffering from is the lack of apps but now RIM solved it in a really smart move, rather than competing with Android they are collaborating with them. RIM is considered one of the giants in the mobile industry although alot of the market share is going to Apple still RIM is fighting back especially when they decided to implement the Android market into their OS & with their upcoming BBX software by the end of the 2012.
Even if you are not a BlackBerry lover you have to know that RIM is the only mobile company to organize such an event exclusively for their middle east customers especially after CES 2012. Some may argue that Apple & Samsung are dominating the market if you look closer to market share statistics you will definitely find RIM there fighting their way between them & i think they are the only company who can coz they have always been their even before Apple & Samsung. In the tablet market no one can deny that the playbook is a great tablet although some features didnt exist but still its RIM’s first tablet & they have add all the features that their customer demanded & soon i believe they are gonna release a 3G version.
Finally i would like to thank Mr. Mohammed Almfleh (Director of Product Management for RIM middle east) for answering all of my question & his awesome presentation.
BTW Thanks for the lovely gift a goodies bag with the BlackBerry 🙂
Most BlackBerry owners with a touch screen have been complaining & getting frustrated with the same problem occurring over & over, I even encountered the same problem with my Bold 9900. The problem occurs during a call, the touch screen does not lock & u end up pressing the on screen button with ur cheeks so end up turning the speaker on or putting the call on hold.
مشكلة تتكرر مع اصحاب البلاك بيري الذي يحتوي علي شاشة لمس. عند استقبال مكالمة الشاشة ما تطفي مما يؤدي الي ضغط الأزرار علي الشاشة بالغلط.
Mainly the problem exist in most of the blackberry touch screen devices & that is due to a lag in the light sensor so I found a solution for all of u out there. The solution is so simple just install one of these apps available in the App world they will lock ur screen when u have a call so u don’t press the on screen buttons with ur cheeks.
الحل للمشكلة بسيط جداً وهو تثبيت احد هذه البرامج و التي سوف تغلق الشاشة عند استقبال مكالمة.
Those apps r comparable on Bold 9900, all Torch models & the new curve 9380. Personally i tried both apps & they work perfectly but i prefer the TalkLock coz it only locks the screen during the call while DragLock also have more features & lock options.
